The new 9116 Foam Plyobox 3 in 1 joins the range of 3-in-1 plyoboxes, i.e. plyoboxes that can be used at three different heights, and complements the other models in the series with a specific technical proposal. Compared to the more basic 9111, made of wood, and the 9112, characterised by a high-security upholstered structure, the 9116 Foam Plyobox represents a particularly effective synthesis of functionality, intrinsic safety, lightness and practicality. This is mainly due to two elements: on the one hand, the use of expanded polypropylene (EPP), and on the other hand, the presence of an internal lattice structure and bevelled edges, both solutions with patent applications filed by Sidea.

Expanded polypropylene – EPP is a technical thermoplastic foam characterised by a particularly favourable relationship between low weight and mechanical strength. It is a material known for its ability to absorb energy, for its resilience and for its ability to return to its original shape after compression or moderate impact. These characteristics make EPP particularly suitable for the construction of a plyometric box intended for dynamic use, where it is important to combine structural strength, contact comfort and ease of handling.

In the case of the 9116 Foam Plyobox 3-in-1, the lightness of EPP is one of the product’s main strengths. In fact, the plyobox is particularly easy to move and reposition, also thanks to the integrated handles, a feature that facilitates its use both in functional training areas and in traditional equipment rooms, where speed of set-up and practicality of operation are a real advantage. The easy handling of the plyometric box also makes space management and work organisation easier in contexts where equipment is frequently repositioned.

In addition to its lightness, EPP offers a further significant advantage: its ability to absorb shocks and provide a less rigid response than traditional construction materials. While maintaining a high degree of resistance, the material also contributes to a more comfortable contact, which is particularly important in all those situations in which the plyobox is used not only as a jumping station, but also as a 3-in-1 step, base or support for different exercises. In addition, there are further qualities of EPP, such as durability, chemical inertness, hygiene, non-toxicity and recyclability, which also enhance its appeal in terms of handling and durability.

The compressive strength of the 9116 is entrusted to an internal lattice structure with a patent application filed by Sidea, designed to promote uniform load distribution and contribute to the stability of the box during use. The presence of the internal lattice is a particularly important technical element, because it makes it possible to lighten the structure without compromising its mechanical behaviour. In this way, the EPP plyobox retains a high degree of handling convenience, but at the same time offers solidity and reliability during use.

A further distinguishing feature is the construction profile with chamfered edges and vertices, also with a patent application filed by Sidea. The chamfered edges help to increase the safety of the equipment, reducing the criticality of accidental impact and making the box suitable for intensive use. In a plyometric box intended for dynamic exercises, where speed of execution and close interaction with the equipment are frequent, this aspect takes on concrete value in terms of both safety and perceived comfort.

Structurally strong and stable, the 9116 Foam Plyobox 3-in-1 therefore maintains a more comfortable response to contact than traditional plyoboxes, offering a particularly effective balance between mechanical performance, energy absorption and ease of use. The 3-in-1 configuration allows the box to be used at three different heights – 50, 60 and 75 cm – by simply changing its orientation, thus expanding its application versatility.

Useful kit specially designed for the training legs, especially the glutes, through the execution of exercises in squatting with overload in deficit, in relation to the support of the feet.

The kit takes its name from the famous squat variation known as the Sumo, due to the split-legged posture reminiscent of sumotors. The Sumo squat is characterized by a very wide leg opening, well beyond the width of the shoulders, with the toes naturally over-extended. This results in less hip flexion and extension, typical of the standard squat, in favor of more abduction and adduction work. Consequently, on a muscular level, we have greater activation of the adductor muscles and of the gluteus. Gluteus whose activation and elongation will be greater the greater the depth of the squat. In order to obtain a full, maximally deep squat, using a weight in order to further stimulate the muscles, the technically simplest solution is to hold a weight in a natural way, with the load weighing downwards. The T-Bell 9011 represents, from this point of view, the simplest and safest solution, to be combined with the Mini Steps 0231/2 in order to be able to descend with the load itself below the foot support line.

The T-Bell Deficit Sumo Squat Kit 0231/3K represents for these reasons a practical solution for the training of the legs, in particular of the gluteus, through the execution of exercises in maximum squat (full squat), with weight, and in deficit with respect to the support plane of the feet; Deficit Sumo Squat and Straddle Lifts.

It is possible to add other pairs of steps 0231/1 to the kit to further raise the steps.

The particularity of this product is given by the independence of the two “step columns”, guaranteeing extreme freedom of positioning, even close together, for a multitude of exercises such as squats with dumbbells, step ups, push-ups with deficit, v-sit and many others. In addition to this, the need for a single column makes it possible to halve the AeroStep steps needed for training, thus being optimal for maximizing the space available in home gyms and personal training centres, or having more stations available for customers (even in gyms).

0231/2 MINI AEROSTEP

Step of reduced dimensions, part of the AeroStep line. Like the model 0231, the Mini Aerostep is 11 cm high but the base measures 40 x 40 cm, with a deck of 30 x 30 cm. Like the other models in the line, the Mini AeroStep is well finished, it is characterized by the absence of dangerous edges, a marked anti-slip surface and four rubber feet, improving both design and safety of the tool.

If bought in pairs, it allows to freely vary the distance and the position of the steps, and to take advantage of the central gap for exercises with a difference in the starting height between the feet and the tool (for example a sumo squat with a kettlebell).

It is possible to add to the Mini AeroStep the Raisers code 0231/1, which can be purchased in pairs. Each raiser allows to increase the height of the step of 5 cm.

Support base

The Mini AeroStep guarantees excellent grip thanks to the texture and material chosen, as well as great stability given by the large support base. The latter, precisely by virtue of its size, allows you to always have a secure and never unstable support, therefore also suitable for more dynamic exercises and monopodalic plyometrics, such as jumped step ups, explosive pistol squats and all the movements in which a support and a push in motion.

Single lift

The advantages of the single platform of this new product do not stop here: using only the support base, without the steps, it is possible to obtain a rise of about 11cm, excellent for creating a deficit in all monopodalic exercises for the lower limbs such as lunges, or as an initial basis for pushups with raises and the like. In fact, higher steps (and therefore more marked deficits) are not suitable for a beginner or for people with limited mobility. Other applications of small deficits can be preparatory movements such as L-shaped pull-ups on rings, where it is necessary to place a progressively higher lift under the heels to then arrive at the final complete gesture with progressive difficulty.

Functionality and space

Extremely versatile, the Mini AeroStep make it possible, but above all comfortable, to perform many exercises. Furthermore, their small size guarantees minimum bulk and maximum yield, just think that if placed in a corner and stacked on top of each other, they occupy only 40x40cm. A suitable choice for all home gyms or personal training centers to maximize functionality in relation to space, as well as for gyms, guaranteeing multiple workstations.

New model made from sturdy multilayer wood panels reinforced through the application of a black waterproof film with hexagonal anti-slip texture.

The Wooden Plyobox code 9111 can be positioned to work at three different heights: 40, 50, 60 cm. Ideal heights for an unpadded plyobox. The sturdy structure, the heavy weight, the anti-slip film, the looped grips, make the tool stable and practical in positioning. However, it is recommended for use on rubberized floors.

As with the Soft Cod. 9112 model, the availability of three very different heights in a single plyobox makes the equipment cheap, space-saving and useful, because it can meet the needs of functional fitness and athletic preparation at the same time.

IMPORTANT: Unlike all other plyoboxes, this model is shipped unassembled.

It is necessary to assemble the panels using the screws provided.
The product does not come with glue, but you can add wood glue to further strengthen the joining among panels, although it is not essential. Do not assemble the plyobox without using all the screws provided.
