A rubber wobble cushion is a fantastic tool for many proprioception exercises. In its great simplicity, it facilitates to improve the balance in every field, from the professional sport to the postural one for older adults. Inflated with air, it deforms sufficiently to create instability. You can use it not only with your lower limbs, but also by leaning your hands, knees, or sitting on it. All this makes it possible to make the positions unstable and to activate supporting muscles to correct the loss of balance. Let’s observe some exercises. From the upright position, the most simple actions suggest climbing on it with two feet or with only one.
Compared to the Freeman tablet, you immediately notice a significant load on the ankle and instability, that is less predictable. Having more than one of them available, stepping on them, after having distributed them on the ground, is an excellent exercise. Seasoned athletes use it more intensely. They jump on it with one or two legs, do squats even with a load, or make the technical movements of the sport they practice. A volleyball player dribbles balancing on Bump Discs. The Bump Stimulating Discs allow the execution of excellent exercises for the core. Amongst others, the bird-dog extension exercise: you need four discs placed under hands and knees, and then proceed with the alternate extension of arms and legs.
